Clinical Research Development Associates, LLC - Working with Industry to bring Clinical Research to Communities
Clinical Research Development Associates, LLC  is a New York State Corporation founded in 2005.  The research site is located in the sprawling community of Springfield Gardens, New York.  The President and CEO is Dr. David Scott who also serves as its Research Director.  Dr. Scott is a board-certified Nephrologist and Internist who also has expertise in Hypertension and Diabetes.  Dr. Scott served as Director of Nephrology and Hypertension for several years at Saint Vincents Catholic Medical Center, the Mary Immaculate Hospital Division in Queens.  He also chaired for several years the Leadership Council of the New York American Diabetes Association.  Dr Scott has been recognized by a number of professional organizations for his excellence in teaching, patient care, and research.  Dr. Scott has been the Principal Investigator in over 50 clinical trials.  Dr. Scott is also the C0-Founder of a non-profit organization, Empowered Health Partnerships (www.empoweredhealthpartnerships.org) which collaborates with Community-Based Organizations to translate new information acquired in clinical research to the very basic clinical applications  in targeted communities.  The therapeutic areas in which Dr. Scott has worked include diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney diseases, cardiovascular medicine, and obesity.  The vision of Clinical Research Development Associates is to expand to other therapeutic areas by creating a network of research sites composed of primary care physicians, independent dialysis facilities, and other specialists.
 
The mission of Clinical Research Development Associates is to increase under-represented populations' participation in clinical research.  These targeted populations include women, ethnic and racial minorities, and the elderly. These goals will be achieved by:
 
1.  Training community-based physicians as Principal Investigators
2.  Creating a network of community-based research sites
3.  Developing educational, community-based programs designed to engage and educate patients on the positive aspects of participating in clinical research.
4.  Developing a database of  the targeted population participation in local, regional, and global clinical trials.
5.  Establishing a Site Management Organization to coordinate local community-based   physicians'  efforts to manage clinical trials in their office

DAVID SCOTT, MD:
Research Director, CEO, and Principal Investigator.  Dr. Scott is a board-certified Internist and Nephrologist.   Dr. Scott is also recognized by the American Society of Hypertension as a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension.  Dr. Scott attended Tufts University School of Medicince in Boston MA.  He completed his post-graduate training at Harlem Hospital Center and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.  Dr. Scott served as Director of Nephrology and Hypertension at Saint Vincents Catholic Medical Center, the Mary Imamaculate Division until 2003.  He was also the President of New York City Leadership Council of the American Diabetes Association from 2004-06.  Dr. Scott has been in academic and clinical practice for 15 years.

NANCY CANO, BS:
Ms. Cano has six years of clinical research experience.  She serves as the lead research coordinator for numerous clinical trials.  She has worked at Clinical Research Development Associates for four years.  Prior to starting with CRDA, Ms Cano worked several years as a coordinator in Long Island.  Ms. Cano is fluent in English and Spanish.
 
JUDITH WILLS, RN:
Ms. Wills is a Clinical Research Nurse with 6 years of experience coordinating clinical research.  In addition to clinical research, Ms. Wills has a longstanding background in dialysis.  She has also worked in numerous hospital settings including medical-surgical unit and emergency room.  Ms Wills brings extensive nursing expertise to CRDA.
 
DIONNE CLARKE:
Ms. Clarke has worked as a clinical trial coordinator for 6 years.  She has extensive research experience in diabetes, hypertension, and sleep disorders.  Ms. Clarke presently serves as a start-up and recruitment specialist for CRDA.
 
RACHEL PETERSON:
Ms Peterson has worked for CRDA since 2005.  She serves as office and research manager and coordinates the day to day research activity of CRDA.  Ms. Peterson has worked for Dr. Scott for 7 years.
 
WILLIE HENNINGTON, BS:
Mr. Hennington works as theMedical Assistant and is responsible for processing all of the research laboratory tests.    He is a graduate of Grambling University with a BS in Biology.  Mr. Hennington has worked for CRDA for 3 years  He also provides technical support for CRDA.
 
GARNETTE MASON, BS
